Welcome to 2025!
Wow! I never would have thought I would live to see 2025! Thinking back all those years ago
graduating from high school in 1979, it just blows my mind! As a young lady moving on to the next
phase of life – looking ahead 40 years never even crossed my mind! But I am thankful and grateful
that I am here to see all the changes in this world that have taken place – all the technology, the
strides in medicine, just so much!
2025 is also a big year for the Queen’s Alumnae Atlanta Chapter, as we celebrate 25 years! It took a
lot of hard work and perseverance for us to be here and to see all that we have accomplished for our
Alma Mater. To the past Board members, the current ones and to all the members who have
supported, contributed and stayed involved, a HUGE thank you. One is not enough! Thank you!
Thank you!! Thank you!!!
Although our 2024 fundraising efforts was not a resounding success as our previous years, it was a
learning lesson for us but we are undaunted in our continued efforts to support our Alma Mater. Last
year we were still able to provide funds, as well as a donation from a generous member, to the
Welfare Fund, supplies for the Home Economics Lab, and a washer/dryer for the Sick Bay. Check out
our Gallery page on our website to see more on these donations.
Our first meeting for the year will be on February 1, 2025 at 6:00pm and we’re continuing to do this
virtually, so watch out for the emails with the link to join us for these meetings on the first Saturday of
every month depending on the schedule. At this meeting, we will continue to unveil all the activities
that we have planned for our 25th anniversary! Check our webpage for a flyer with all the events dates
for the year – https://www.queensatlanta.org. We continue to try to keep the meetings to an hour or
less, so mark your calendars and plan to join us!
As always one of the ways to support the Chapter is by paying your dues. Dues can be paid through
the website, mailing to our P.O. Box address or electronic payment to our bank account using our
email address. Dues are still $30 for the year!
Let me remind you all that your continued support of our efforts to make a difference in the lives of the
girls at our Alma Mater remains our top priority. So please, I would ask you to consider upping your
involvement in the work of the Chapter for 2025 as the work we do for the school is greatly
appreciated by the students there. Believe me when I say that the school really needs us to help
them!
Our Chapter is not only a means to help our Alma Mater, but it is also a resource for chapter members
to reach out and stay in touch with each other. We can be proud of all we have accomplished in the
last 25 years and we look forward to another 25, hoping that we can get other members to step up
and take over the reins in the coming years. We do make a difference in the lives of the girls at the
school, so let’s look to the future and keep the Chapter moving ahead. If you are interested in taking a
more active role, please do not hesitate to reach out to myself or any of the Board members.
I look forward to seeing you on a call in the very near future! Till then, be safe, take care and God
Bless!
